Rückblick - Ein Unternehmen mit Tradition
-
Founded in 1875 by Christian Hermann Georgi in Rothenkirchen, the company quickly grew into one of the town’s largest factories. Brush production began in the family home, continuing a tradition that endures today.
-
The year 1888 marked a turning point: with steam power driving the machines and stream water feeding the boiler, the company expanded rapidly. Specializing in brush woods, Georgi supplied his products to surrounding towns, laying the foundation for lasting growth.
-
Transporting long timber was a challenge. In 1890, Georgi requested the construction of a road to his factory. The municipality agreed, on the condition that he maintained it and shared its use with the townspeople.
-
With business thriving, Georgi expanded in 1894 by acquiring a neighboring property. Though the building’s architecture limited its use, fate intervened in 1912 when it burned down. From the ashes, Georgi rebuilt – this time shaped by his own architectural ideas.
-
1913 marked another milestone: Georgi built a brush factory that remains in use today. The steam engine now powered not only the sawmill but also the brush-processing machines, raising both output and quality. Beyond business, Georgi was deeply engaged in local life, serving for years on the municipal council.
-
In 1916, Paul Georgi stepped into leadership, purchasing the company and improving its agriculture. The following year brought tragedy with the death of his father Hermann – both mentor and parent. Through determination, Paul deepened his knowledge and ensured the company’s success across generations.
-
A new chapter began in 1990, when Thilo Braun took over leadership. Under his guidance, the company has continued to thrive and evolve into the modern age.
